Organ repertoire from North-German baroque composers by Prof. Pier Damiano Peretti

Description
Johann Sebastian Bach is one of the specialties of Pier Damiano Peretti. In this masterclass, he will discuss as well as the three Partitas and a range of Preludes and Fugues. Also the Leipzig Chorals can be performed in the lessons.

Choose which pieces you want to prepare and let us know by sending an email to office@organfestival.nl. Please note that the playing time per student is limited and that we cannot guarantee that you can play all your preferred pieces. Nevertheless, choose approximately 3-5 pieces so that the professor can compile an attractive course program.
If we do not receive notification of your prepared pieces, your registration will be changed to passive.

About Pier Damiano Peretti
Pier Damiano Peretti was born in Vicenza, Italy, in 1974. He studied organ in his hometown, in Hamburg and in Vienna with Herbert Tachezi and Michael Radulescu. He studied composition in Bologna, Padua and at the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music.
From 2002 to 2009, he was professor of organ at the University of Music and Drama in Hanover; in 2009, he was appointed to the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. In 2024, he was a guest lecturer at the University of the Arts in Berlin.
With a repertoire ranging from Renaissance to contemporary music, Peretti has performed throughout Europe, the Far East, Israel and Canada. He has made numerous CD recordings and in 2026 he will record the organ works of Paul Hindemith.
Masterclasses (in Haarlem, Leipzig, Palencia and Gothenburg, among others) and jury memberships (Odense, Tokyo, Erfurt-Weimar, Montreal, Brixen, Nuremberg and St Albans) complement his teaching activities. He has published articles and editions, including the new edition of Arnold Schönberg's Variations on a Recitative, Op. 40 (Universal Edition). As a composer, he has won many prizes.
