Course 6

Organ repertoire from the Italian baroque period by Prof. Manuel Tomadin

Dates: July 20-24 (1st week)

Description
This course focuses on organ music composed from the Prima Prattica of the Venetian Renaissance until Frescobaldi’s Seconda Prattica. Due to the barrier posed by the Alps, Italy was an isolated area with its own unique development. However, there were influences from other countries, such as by the Flanders vocalists. The result of this isolation and the scarce ties with the rest of Europe led to a fascinating organ style and an exciting repertoire. Manuel Tomadin is an expert in presenting this style and deepening the knowledge of this wonderful organ music.
